The Japan Machinery Federation Meeting: A lecture on “Status of Technological Development for Fuel Debris Retrieval at Fukushima Daiichi NPS,” delivered by Mr. Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager, R&D Strategy Planning Department (May 26, 2021)

On May 26, 2021, the Japan Machinery Federation hosted an online meeting to deliver a lecture for the federation members alone. Mr. Naoaki Okuzumi, Senior Manager of R&D Strategy Planning Department, the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID), delivered a lecture on “Status of Technological Development for Fuel Debris Retrieval at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.”

During the lecture, the investigation status of the inside of the primary containment vessel and the development of fuel debris retrieval technology for decommissioning were discussed. Approximately 60 people attended the lecture and showed keen interest in the topic.

IRID continues to collaborate with various organizations from different sectors by providing on-demand courses and lectures.
