Booth Display at the 18th Lecture Meeting of the Japan Society of Maintenology: Introduction of Research Development and Technology for the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (July 13-15, 2022)

The 18th Lecture Meeting of the Japan Society of Maintenology was held at the Yoshida Campus of the Kyoto University from July 13 to 15, 2022. The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) exhibited a booth display at the meeting.

The following website provides the details of the event (in Japanese). https://www.jsm.or.jp/event_t/14688.html

The IRID booth featured panel exhibitions on the status of research and development (R&D) being conducted by IRID for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS). Many participants visited the IRID booth and were attracted by video footages of a submersible investigation robot that has been under development as well as a robot arm that was developed in UK and is currently being tested in Japan.

Additionally, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy published a booklet titled “The Important Stories on Decommissioning 2022” to deepen the understanding of the current decommissioning status of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. Booklets were distributed among visitors.

The e-booklet is available at the link below.
