Poster Displays at “Special Exhibition of Nuclear Decommissioning and Operational Extension: Current Situation of Nuclear Power Stations in Fukui Prefecture.”
(November 3-12, 2017)

IRID exhibited at “Special Exhibition of Nuclear Decommissioning and Operational Extension of the Nuclear Power Stations (NPS): Current Situation of NPSs in Fukui Prefecture,” which was held on November 3-19, 2017. Domestic NPSs have entered critical phases. Especially in Fukui Prefecture, the status of NPSs is in different phases; restart, operational extension, decommissioning and to be decommissioned. This exhibition also featured the decommissioning activities of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS).

IRID displayed posters on research and development (R&D), investigations inside the reactors, videos, and the submersible robot mock-up that investigated inside the primary containment vessel (PCV) (provided by Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings) in July, 2017. Additionally, ATOX Co., Ltd., the member of IRID, also presented posters on the company overview and decontamination robots, etc.

Over the three-day weekend, a “Kitchen Science” session was held at the same time, which received over 8,000 visitors over the period. On the first day, the human resource development team members from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who had visited Japan for other purposes, had been looking at displays with great interests in the booth.
