Booth Display at the Robot & Aerospace Festa Fukushima 2022: Introduction of Research Development and Technologies for Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) exhibited a booth display at the Robot & Aerospace Festa Fukushima 2022, which was held on November 25 and 26, 2022.
Despite restriction due to the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 4,600 people including families who are interested in robots visited the Robot & Aerospace Festa Fukushima 2022 over two days (according to the website of the organizer, Fukushima Prefecture). Many people also visited the IRID booth.
The IRID booth featured panel exhibitions on the status of research development (R&D) being conducted by IRID for the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS). Additionally, many visitors were interested in the video of a submersible investigation robot that is currently being investigating and of a robot arm that was developed in U.K. and is being tested in Japan.
To promote a better understanding of the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi NPS, brochures titled “The Important Stories on Decommissioning 2022,” issued by the Agency of Natural Resources Energy (ANRE), were distributed among visitors.
