Delivering Lecture by Toyoaki Yamauchi, President of IRID [32nd Nuclear Energy System Symposium Organized by Atomic Energy Society of Japan Chubu Branch] (February 2, 2024)
The 32nd Nuclear Energy System Symposium was held in Nagoya City on February 2, 2024, in which Toyoaki Yamauchi, President of the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) delivered a lecture.
The Nuclear Energy System Symposium has been conducted by the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) Chubu Branch and regularly held for broadly discussing the conditions to accept nuclear energy systems in a society.
President Yamauchi gave a talk on IRID’s R&D results as well as the situation of the primary containment vessels (PCVs) interior that were clarified by investigation conducted by IRID so far. He also expressed prospects for technological development related to the nuclear decommissioning and challenges to proceed with the Fukushima Daiichi decommissioning.
