Booth Display at the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering Joint Meeting 2023 in Hokushinetsu Area: Introducing R&D and Technology for the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station(March 3 and 4, 2023)

The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Joint Meeting 2023 was held at the Bunkyo Campus of University of Fukui from March 3 to 4, 2023. The meeting was organized by the JSME, Hokushinetsu branch. The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) had panels at the company’s booth display section at the meeting.

Many participants in the meeting visited the IRID booth.

The IRID booth featured the research and development being conducted by IRID for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS). In addition, participants in the meeting had interests in the video footages of a submersible investigation equipment used for investigations, and a robot arm developed in the UK and currently facilitated in Japan.

Furthermore, the booklets titled “The Important Stories on Decommissioning 2022,” which was published by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, were distributed to the participants to clarify the current decommissioning status of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
