Booth Display at ‘Robot Festa Fukushima’ (November 19, 2016)
~R&D for the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS) and Introduction of Robots Developed by four IRID Companies~

IRID and member companies; Hitachi GE, Toshiba, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and ATOX displayed booths at ‘Robot Festa Fukushima 2016’ held on November 19, 2016.

Despite the rain, the ‘Robot Festa Fukushima 2016’ attracted over 7,200 visitors (according to the organizer). This number is around twice the number who attended the previous year: the many fans and families also attracted to the ‘Aerospace Festa’ that was held at the same time. Many of these visitors visited the IRID booth.

The IRID booth featured a panel exhibition outlining R&D being conducted by IRID for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. In addition, four decontamination robots were exhibited and demonstrated (some only partially), attracting a high degree of interest among visitors.
