Lecture by Dr. Hironori Adachi, Senior Manager of the R&D Management Department [Lecture Meeting on Nuclear Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management]

The Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) held a “Lecture Meeting on Nuclear Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management: The Current Situation of Nuclear Decommissioning for Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS) and Future Approaches” at the JAEA Naraha Remote Technology Development Center, on December 20, 2017. In the meeting, Dr. Hironori Adachi, Senior Manager of the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID)’s R&D Management Department gave a lecture titled “Development of Robotic Technology for Investigation Conducted by IRID.” This was the first time that IRID member gave a lecture at this event. Dedicated audiences of approximately 70 people including local affiliates attended the lecture at the venue.

In the lecture, Dr. Adachi discussed the current status of and issues concerning robot, which are mainly developed to investigate inside the reactor, as well as robotic technologies for post-accident response.

IRID is committed to positively cooperating with universities and research institutes through various programs including on-demand courses.
