Lecture by Mr. Kiichi Suganuma, Executive Director of IRID, at the Third Japan-U.S. Decommissioning and Remediation Fukushima Recovery Forum

On February 24, 2016, Mr. Kiichi Suganuma, Executive Director of IRID, introduced IRID’s efforts, in his lecture entitled “R&D Activities at IRID” at the Third Japan-U.S. Decommissioning and Remediation Fukushima Recovery Forum.

This forum was intended mainly to promote useful exchanges between Japanese and U.S. companies in the fields of nuclear decommissioning and decontamination, as part of Japan-U.S. cooperation on nuclear decommissioning and decontamination. About 90 Japanese people, including those from the METI and IRID member manufacturers as well as about 21 U.S. companies, Universities, etc. joined the forum. Participants from both Japan and the U.S. introduced the present conditions of nuclear decommissioning, etc. Japanese and U.S companies were engaged in networking between them and had active communication with each other.
