[The First Part]
Mr. Naohiro Masuda, Chief Executive Officer, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) gave a lecture about the current status of TEPCO’s efforts toward decommissioning the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. IRID Director Kiyoshi Oikawa introduced our achievements and progress status of R&D for decommissioning. A total of about 250 people participated in the symposium.

Panels and images were exhibited and a robot was demonstrated. IRID engineers engaged in R&D directly answered questions from participants. This became a valuable opportunity also for IRID to promote communication with people in Fukushima.
